How to price your list

  • Price walls and ceilings per square foot of surface, and trim per linear foot. Doors, windows and cabinet doors go per piece.
  • Prep is where jobs lose money: make patching, wallpaper removal and extra primer their own lines, so they are visible and paid for.
  • A big color change needs an extra coat. Price it as a line the customer can see, not a hidden markup.
  • Say what is included (two coats, standard colors, moving furniture) and set a minimum job charge for small rooms.

Next time, quote it by voice.

FieldDraft turns a voice note and a photo from the job site into this kind of quote, priced only from your own list, and sends it to your customer to accept online. Import the CSV you just downloaded in Price book → Import a spreadsheet.

Questions

Why are there no prices?

On purpose. Labor rates and markups change from city to city and shop to shop, and a list with someone else's prices is how jobs get underpriced. The items and units are a starting point; the prices are yours.

Does it work with Excel or Google Sheets?

Yes. The download is a CSV file that opens in Excel, Google Sheets and Numbers, and imports straight into FieldDraft.

Where is my list saved?

Only in this browser, on this device. Nothing is sent to us. Download the CSV to keep a copy.
